At"Circle of Friends" our mission is to establish an environment of inclusion for teens and young adults with developmental disabilities in a high school setting and within their community. The club focuses on the acceptance of people with disabilities through relationship building with non-disabled peers. These friendships allow students with special needs the opportunity to acquire, practice and improve social and conversational skills in a natural environment.
"Circle of Friends" enhances the lives of students with and without disabilities. It allows students who may feel isolated or alone on campus have a place where they are accepted and cared for. The members meet twice a week during lunch where they engage in group activities, and occasionally set out on out of school adventures.
